Firstly, I'd like to say this is a great site for Broadband resources and would recommend it to anyone. (something that Jofffa & Bill seemed to overlook).

RE: Broadband debate. The Federal Government are 'way out of touch'. They appear short sighted when it comes to investing in Australia's broadband future. They seem to lack the longer term vision and understanding on the many positives and advantages that high speed broadband will have, therefore they are reluctant to spend (invest) money.

The high speed Broadband issue (for all Australians) should be high up on the political and economical agenda as far as I'm concerned. It's current and future potential technologies need to be recognised and embraced. To disregard this could only keep Australia's progress in the doldrums as opposed to other developed countries.

Think they're talking about speeds of 12mbit for regional, remote and country locations Jofffa? If that's the case, major factors that I would like to see introduced into the country would be a minimum speed of 12Mbits (opposed to up to). Otherwise those speeds will most likely be outdated by the time they're intorduced.

City folks will be accessing speeds much much higher down the track and new services such as streaming TV and Video on Demand will be available to them. So where will this leave country folks in a couple of years time? Frustrated, thats where!

It just makes logical sense to have very fast broadband in the country, not only for country people, but it could also open up the opportunity for new and online businesses to become run or become established in the country.

Spend the Money Johnny... Don't send this country backwards!

Yeah I want BroadbandNow! Anyone got 100Mbits the can sell me? Cause that's the kind of speeds which alot of overseas countries like Japan & Korea get!

12Mbits! Oh really...please! I might live in a victorian metropolitan city but I can reach 18Mbits already! 8,9,10 or 12 Mbits might cut it for the bush, but it aint gunna cut it in the cities!

Our Government is not only hindering our business and educatinal opportunites, but they need to get off their backsides and do something before our kids start lagging behind, let alone our country!

Definitely agree with Mr Johns on that one along with recommending the site/service to anyone.

As I mentioned in an earlier Blog, Broadband Guide assisted me with joining up, comparing plans and finding out a thing or two on Broadband. I guess that's why I'm almost a regular here.

Sven - Broadband Deals and Special Offers are usually advertised in the individual plan's 'More Info' section (when applicable). Otherwise you might try and call the Provider directly. Their phone number can be located in the same 'More Info' section, or from the Australian Broadband Provider section.

You guys have the best most helpful and easy to use Broadband Search Tools around! I absolutely luv that Plan Wizard, its a very cool tool to use and gets you exactly the plan you're after. Overall, Broadband Guide is a great Broadband website & resource!

In my opinion... you're better off grabbin what you can, while you can! Who knows how things will be 12 months down the track let alone 24 months!! Calculate what a good deal will be within a 12 month period I reckon! My 2 cents worth anyway! wOOf!

If you're luck enough to have an ISP with a good quality reliable product, their customer service standards shouldn't be too much of an issue either way. Get it!

I was lucky because befoe I had connected the Internet on at home I was able to surf the net from work and do some research. If you're new to the Broadband, I can imaghine how hard it would be to find the right package... I also recommend that your surf, read or post in forums like broadband guide. Theres heaps of people out there that are willing to help yopu out.
